WORK LOCATION: 1333 Chomedey Boulevard, Laval
Reporting to the Director of Urban Planning, you are tasked with managing all resources and activities under your supervision, particularly those related to inspections and programs, permits and citizen services, as well as permits and business services. You ensure the alignment of priorities related to the implementation of the Service's strategic planning and maintain coherence between strategic, tactical, and operational objectives.
Equipped with an excellent understanding of municipal processes related to permit issuance and inspection, you pursue the optimization of your department's business processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce approval times for real estate projects. Placing a high priority on citizen and corporate citizen satisfaction, you analyze and adjust business processes by establishing rigorous performance measures to meet objectives and increase your team's efficiency.
Action- and results-oriented, you raise your team's awareness to effectively manage multiple changes through agile and high-performing practices. As an inclusive leader, you ensure the harmonious integration of your team's strengths and skills to realize the strategic vision in an integrated manner. You encourage and support opportunities for innovation and outreach, ensuring their visibility.
With your developed political sense and interpersonal communication skills, you exert strategic influence, weaving networks both internally and externally to foster fruitful exchanges and beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in urban planning or any relevant bachelor's degree for the position;
- Be a member of the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec (asset);
- Possess ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in the field of urban planning, with specific expertise in permit issuance;
- Have solid experience in municipal management, demonstrating the ability to lead organizational changes and manage multidisciplinary teams;
- Have an excellent knowledge of municipal laws and regulations related to urban planning;
- Proven competence in managing municipal inspection operations and permit issuance and in continuous process improvement;
